• Hugh Jackman being friends with Leiv Schreiber, asked him to play the role of Stryker in this film, after reading the script he agreed to do the movie but asked to play the role of Sabretooth instead.
• A rough version of this film was leaked onto the internet a couple of months prior to the film's actual opening, this bootleg version ended up being downloaded and reviewed by Fox News columnist Roger Friedman, a move which cost the reporter his job.
• Zack Snyder, Bryan Singer, Brett Ratner and Les Wisemen were all offered the chance to direct this film, and all of them past on the project, leaving the door open for Gavin Hood to be offered the chance to direct.
• This film was heavily criticized on the internet by fans of the comic and how drastically different many of the characters and stories were from the source material.
