The wheelchair from the original X-Men movie was sold
to a lawyer that works in the firm that represents Patrick Stewart. The
producers of the film upon starting the sequel realised they needed it
back, so the lawyer agreed to rent the chair back to the studio for a large
undisclosed fee.

In scenes where all of the actors get frozen, the majority
of the actors used were mimes, as they are used to playing motionless.

The mansion used for the school can also be seen as the mansion
of Lex Luther in the teen drama Smallville.

Ian McKellen who is a homosexual, was asked by the screenwriters
to help them make the Iceman scene in which he tells his parents he is
a mutant feel like a "coming out" scene.

The Oval Office seen in this movie is an exact recreation
right down to the details of the desk. The set piece was also later used
in numerous episodes of the TV show Stargate SG-1.

The wall of ice that seperates Brian Cox from Hugh Jackman
was a real ice wall that weighed more than 3,500 pounds.
