-
The role of Peter Colt was originally supposed to be played
by Hugh Grant, but Paul Bettany ended up winning the role instead.
-
Before Kirsten Dunst got the part of Lizzie Bradbury, Reese
Witherspoon was considered for the role.
-
The scenes that take place during Wimbledon were filmed at
the actual 2003 Wimbledon tournament, the first time a film was allowed
to shoot scenes in the history of the tournament.
-
Since the actors were not actual tennis players there was
no way to get them to the level of play required to be convincing, as a
result the only time actual tennis balls are used in the movie is during
serves, afterwards the actors just swung rackets at the air and pretended
to play each other, while the ball was added digitally in post production.
