TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

• The robot EVE was designed by Jonathan Ive, the Senior-Vice President Of Industrial Design, and is better known as the man who designed the look of the I-Pod. Several references to Apple products can be seen in the film, one of them being an I-Pod, which is the device that WALL-E watches his movie on. The voice of an entire character, the Auto-Pilot, is actually provided by Apple's MacinTalk software. The sound that WALL-E makes when he is charged is the start-up sound that all MAC computers come pre-loaded with. Finally WALL-E himself was designed around the look of the older Macintosh computers.
• WALL-E stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter-Earth-class.
• EVE stands for Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator.
• M-O stands for Microbe Obliterator.
• The voice of WALL-E was provided by Ben Burtt, a notable sound effect wizard who became famous after inventing many of the famous sounds heard in Star Wars. In addition to his voice work, he also came up with most of the sounds heard in the movie.
• The videos showing Fred Willard marks the first time any kind of live-action scene has been seen in a Pixar movie.
