This film is a spoof of many musicians and many films, however much of the film is spent spoofing the films Walk The Line and Ray.
This is the second film to be directed by Jake Kasdan, the first being Zero Effect. Jake is the son of Lawrence Kasdan who is most notable for writing on several films in the Star Wars and Indiana Jones series.
There are numerous cameos in this film, some of the more notable ones include Jack White of The White Stripes playing Elvis, and Jack Black, Paul Rudd, Justin Long and Jason Schwartzman playing Paul, John, George and Ringo of The Beatles.
