• Writer/Director/Actor Adrienne Shelly was found murdered in her apartment six months prior to the release of this film. It was originally thought to be a suicide as she was found hanging from her shower curtain by her bed sheet, however days after this was announced a 19-year-old Ecuadorian illegal immigrant confessed to the murder.
• Adrienne Shelly wrote this film while pregnant with her daughter Sophie Ostroy. Sophie actually appears in this movie, she plays the toddler Lulu.
