• While the story was outlined, the only actual dialogue that was scripted for the movie was the musical number Red White And Blaine, the rest was pretty much entirely ad-libbed.
• In the original story outlined the theater that the musical was to be performed in was destroyed by a tornado before the final production could be performed.
• Christopher Guest spent a year and a half of his life editing this movie, along with Andy Blumenthal, down from the approximately 60 hours worth of footage, including the musical number which ran at 40 minutes alone.
