The role of Dave Kujon was offered to Al Pacino, who read
for the part but ended up having to leave the project due to scheduling
constraints. A decision that Pacino regrets, he has since said in interviews
this is the one movie he turned down that he wished he had not passed on.
Before the role was eventually won by Chazz Palminteri it was also offered
to Robert DeNiro and Christopher Walken, who both turned down the role
as well.

Screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie was on set, and during
was thought to be a joke take of the line up scene, Benicio Del Toro says
his line in very accented English, and McQuarrie shouts out "In English
please." Both the line and Del Toro's reaction were unscripted and ended
up being used in the final cut of the film.

The long haired Kaiser Soze seen in flashback scenes was
actually played by a grip working on the set of this film who was unable
to bend his arms fully at the elbows. Director Bryan Singer thought this
characteristic would make the character seen more menacing and cast him
in the role.
