TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

• This film marked the first fully computer animated feature length film in history.
• Andy's mother's car has the "A111" on the front license plate and "A113" on the back. This is is reference to to rooms A111 and A113 the two rooms used by Pixar at the CalArts building to create the film. "A113" has become a favorite of Pixar animators to hide in every Pixar release since.
• The part of Buzz was originally offered to Billy Crystal who turned the role down. He later said publicly that he regretted the decision and upon hearing this Pixar offered him a lead voice in Monsters Inc. which he accepted. According to Tim Allen the person Pixar went to next was Jim Carrey, but due to their limited budget, they could not afford to pay Jim Carrey's high asking price, so the role went to Allen.
• Originally Barbie was supposed to be featured in the film, however Mattel would not release the rights to the doll as they were convinced the film would be a failure at the box office. As a result, the character was rewritten as Bo-Peep, however after the film's success Mattel did agree to allow the toy to have a role in subsequent sequels.
