Screenwriter Nancy Pimental has said this movie is loosely based on her friendship with friend Kate Walsh who has since had great success playing Dr. Addison on T.V.'s Grey's Anatomy.
The "Penis song", which can only be seen on the Unrated version of the DVD in the U.S., was written by stars Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate and Selma Blair.
Nancy Pimental makes a cameo in this film, she is the girl who vomits in the club during the scene where Christina is invited to the after-party.
