• Although uncredited, Tom Stoppard helped George Lucas with much of the dialogue in the film.
• Towards the beginning of the film as the transporter lands on the senate building, the Millennium Falcon can be seen landing in the bottom right corner of the screen.
• At an astonishing twelve minutes, this film features the longest continuos duel in movie history.
• The first cut of this movie ran nearly 4 hours long, the opening battle scene alone ran over an hour in length.
• George Lucas developed a bad cough while filming this movie, never missing out on an opportunity, he had the sounds of his cough recorded and used the captured sounds for General Grievous' coughs heard throughout the movie. Lucas can also be seen as the blue skinned Baron Papanoida who can be seen in the Opera House.
• Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker, who play C-3PO and R2-D2 in the film, are the only two actors who appear in all six of the Star Wars movies.
• This film has more than 2,200 CGI effects in it, that is more that Episode I and II combined. The original Star Wars contained a mere 350 shots.
• This is the only Star Wars film not nominated for the Visual Effects Academy Award. It was still nominated for Best Make-up, but it lost to The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
