to date for a Martin Scorsese film.

Originally this film was going to be directed by Wolfgang
Peterson however after he left the project, the script was rewritten to
have more of an action blockbuster appeal to it. David Fincher was then
set to direct with Brad Pitt and Mark Wahlberg in starring roles, however
these talks also fell through, and the project was eventually picked up
by Martin Scorsese.
-
Originally this film was scheduled for release in October
2009, however it was abruptly changed at the last minute and pushed back
to January 2010 by the studio.
