TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

• This film is at least partially historically accurate. There really was an ABA, they really were absorbed into the ABA in 1976, and the 4 teams that make it into the NBA in the film, are the same four that actually came from the ABA. While all of the characters are fictitious, and there never was a team called the Flint Tropics, all of the teams they play were actual teams that existed in the ABA.
• Jackie Moon claims that he has never thrown up, even as a baby. The actor who plays Jackie is Will Ferrell, and as a baby Ferrell actually had a condition called pyloric stenosis which caused him to throw up very frequently. If you look closely on his abdomen you can see the scar that came from the surgery he had as a tot to correct the disease.
