Sean Connery refused to travel from the mainland to Alcatraz
Island everyday for filming and demanded that a cabin be built for him
to stay in as a requirement for him doing the film, and the producers agreed.

This was the last film collaboration between Jerry Bruckheimer
and Don Simpson as Simpson died during production of this film. The movie
was dedicated to his memory.

Stanley Anderson plays the silhouetted voice of the President
in this movie, he also appears as only a shadow and a voice as the President
in Armageddon, another Jerry Bruckheimer movie directed by Michael
Bay.
