    Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting) plays Rudy Baylor, a rookie lawyer in over his head on a high profile case. Opposing him: an army of seasonal legal sharks (led by Jon Voight). On Rudy's side : Deck Shifflet (Danny DeVito), a feisty "paralawyer" who specialises in flunking the bar exam. Rudy's chances are slim to none until he uncovers a trail of corruption that might lead to the one thing that could win his case: the truth.

• When Danny DeVito wakes up Matt Damon in the courtroom scene, Damon was actually asleep, and Francis Ford Coppola had to rush filming the scene before Damon woke up. Damon's surprise from waking up looks genuine because it is, he was not told about the plans before he fell asleep.
• Coppola told Dean Stockwell to pretend to be violent monarch and sentence various cast members to be beheaded in an effort to help him identify with his character.
