-
Originally the movie was part of a larger film called Grindhouse.
The film was supposed to simulate the old Grindhouse films of the seventies
that showed cheap horror flicks, often as a double feature. The original
Grindhouse
film was paired up with the Quentin Tarantino film Death Proof.
In between the film's fake advertisements and trailers were shown directed
by the likes of Rob Zombie and Eli Roth.
-
Originally this film was called Project Terror before
adopting the name planet terror.
-
Robert Rodriguez scored this film himself, and he was said
to be inspired by the scores from Escape From New York and The
Thing which were both scored by John Carpenter.
