    Charming rogue pirate Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is back for a grand, swashbuckling, nonstop joyride filled with devilish pirate humor, monstrous sea creatures and breathtaking black magic. Now, Jack's got a blood debt to pay - he owes his soul to the legendary Davy Jones, ghostly Ruler of the Ocean Depths... but ever-crafty Jack isn't about to go down with out a fight. • This movie is a sequel Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl, which itself is based on a ride originally created for Disneyland. The original rides did not contain the main characters featured in the movie, however, in 2006 to coincide with the film's release, Disneyland and Disneyworld updated the rides to feature Captain Jack Sparrow, Barbossa, and Davy Jones.
• This film was shot back to back with Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End, which is essentially one long movie cut in the middle.
• Johnny Depp has said numerous times that he based the character of Jack Sparrow on Keith Richards. Richards was asked to play a small role in this film as Sparrow's father after the success of the first movie, but Richards was forced to decline due to tour commitments with The Rolling Stones.
• This movie reached the $100,000,000 box office receipt mark faster than any movie in history. In just two days the film grossed $135,634,554.
• Before given to Bill Nighy, other actors were considered for the role of Davy Jones, including Jim Broadbent.
• The bayou scene is a recreation of the opening of the actual Pirates Of The Caribbean ride at Disneyland. Several other sights from the ride are included as well including, the dog with the jail keys and the men whistling at the dog, the pirate band at Tortuga (complete with accordion player), and the man being pulled out of a well and spitting water.
