What could be better than one Hayley Mills? How about two? Special Academy Award winning actress Hayley Mills (Pollyanna) shines again, this time playing twin daughters of a divorced couple (Brian Keith and Maureen O'Hara). The girls, who have long been separated, meet accidentally for the first time at summer camp. After discovering they are long lost twin sisters, the two concoct an outrageous scheme to switch places in an effort to get their parents back together.
In her dual role, Miss Mills moves from slapstick to serious, refined to rock 'n' roll. Her delightful performance, coupled with a charming story, will capture your heart and have you doubling up with laughter!

TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

The script of this movie is based on the German book Das Doppelte Loottchen by Eric Kastner.
In the original script, there were only a few scenes that had Hayley Mills acting with herself, the majority of scenes were supposed to have a body double. But after the first special effects shots were finished and Disney saw them, they immediately ordered the script rewritten to showcase as much of the special effect as possible.
The song in the opening credits of this movie was done by Annette Funicello and Tommy Sands who were shooting Babes In Toyland simotainously on the same lot.
The writer and director of the film also wrote and directed Hayley Mills in Pollyanna. He also co-authored the 1998 remake of the film more than 38 years after the original.
