    Putting their own unique modern-day spin on Homer's classic tale of The Odyssey, O Brother, Where Art Thou? is another Coen Brothers' classic.
    Clooney plays Everett Ulysses McGill, a silver tounged petty criminal who finds himself on the wrong end of a chain gang in deepest Mississippi. Together with a clumsy duo of lame losers, simple minded Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson) and a maladjusted Pete (John Turturro), he scas his way off the chain gang and into the adventure of a lifetime as the three set off in search of a fortune in buried treasure... still shackled and hopelessly unprepared for the road ahead.

Despite the fact that this movie is based on The Odyssey, the Coen Brothers claim they have never read the famous book by Homer.
George Clooney practiced his singing intently, but to no avail, it was decieded that he should be dubbed over.
George Clooney agreed to do this movie before he ever saw a script.
The American Humane Society originally had refused to give their endorsement to this film after seeing a scene where a digital cow is hit by a car. The group had to see the special effects process before agreeing to give it their stamp of approval. However, the common line "No animals were harmed during the making of this film," was modified to "Scenes that appear to have harmed animals were simulated." This was one of the first films to recieve this title.
The cabin featured in this movie is a recreation of the cabin used in Evil Dead, a nod to long time friend and fellow director Sam Raimi.
