-
This marks the first major Muppet project made without the
original Muppet creator, Jim Henson. It also marks the first film appearance
of Kermit voiced by Steven Whitmire instead of Jim Henson.
-
Steven Whitmire was very nervous about taking over the voice
of Kermit and he claims the night before he recorded the songs that Kermit
would sing in this movie he had a dream about the late Jim Henson in which
he met him in a hotel lobby and voiced his concerns about taking over the
role. Henson reassured him he would do just fine, and Whitmore claims this
gave him the confidence to go in record the songs the next day.
-
The dog dressed in the suit seen in the beginning and end
of this film, is Sprocket from another Jim Henson TV show called Fraggle
Rock.
-
Before deciding on Michael Caine, numberous actors were considered
for the role of Ebenezer, including George Carlin.
-
There are a variety of stores whose names have special meaning
