TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

• Universal called writer/director Stephen Sommers the morning after the first Mummy movie premiered and asked him to make a sequel immediately.
• This is frequently thought of as The Rock's first film role outside of the realm of television, however this is not the case, in 2000 he had a small role as a mugger in the film Longshot.
• Although Brendan Fraser fights a computer animated version of The Rock at the end of the film, Fraser did not actually meet him in person until the movie premiered.
• Arnold Vosloo who plays Imhotep had his entire body shaved twice a day in an effort to look as smooth as possible. He originally tried waxing but he couldn't take the pain, so he resorted to shaving.
• Writer/Director Stephen Sommers can be seen in this movie as the man sitting outside in the bathtub during the scene in which Izzy is first introduced.
