TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED
FRIENDS
-
In the original draft of the script, the group found The
Holy Grail at the famous London department store, Harrod's.
-
While all of the Python's play a large number of roles, Michael
Palin gets the title of most roles, he plays 12 different people
in the film. Even his infant son makes an appearance as "Sir Not Appearing
In This Film."
-
To finally put the argument to rest: The airspeed velocity
of an unladen swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24 miles per
hour, beating its wings 7 to 9 times per second rather than 43. And a 5
ounce bird cannot carry a one pound coconut.
-
The band Pink Floyd were huge Monty Python fans and even
helped to finance the movie by giving some of the proceeds of the sales
of the album Dark Side Of The Moon to the Pythons.
-
Graham Chapman was struggling with his alcoholism throughout
the shoot of this movie. Many times they had to reshoot scenes because
he would forget his lines. There are also numerous scenes in which the
actor can be seen sweating profusely due to the detox medication he was
on to help him stop drinking. The worst display was in the "Bridge Of Death"
scene in which the actor could not even cross the bridge due the disease
and a stand in had to be used.
