WHAT THE STUDIO WANTS YOU TO KNOW
DESCRIPTION:
Perception: Our day-in, day-out world is real.
Reality: That world is a hoax, an elaborate deception
spun by all-powerful machines of artificial intelligence that controls
us. Whoa.
Mind-warp stunts. Techno-slamin' visuals.
Mega-kick action. Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne lead the fight to
free humankind in The Matrix the see-and-see-again cyberthriller
written and directed by the Wachowski brothers (Bound). The story
sears, the special effects stake out new moviemaking territory - the movie
flat-out rocks.

FRIENDS
-
The role of Neo was first offered to Ewan McGregor who turned
the role down. At the behest of the studio Brad Pitt and Val Kilmer were
then offered the role and they to turned it down. Later Leonardo DiCaprio
and Johnny Depp were considered, but the role ended up going to Keanu Reeves.
-
Similarly the role of Morpheus was originally offered to
Will Smith who also turned it down, he later said in an interview that
he was not a smart enough actor to take the role, and it ended up going
to Laurence Fishburne. Intrestingly enough his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith
appears in the film's sequels.
-
Some of the rooftop sets were reused or reworked from the
film Dark City to save costs. In the opening scene the rooftop that
Trinity runs across is the exact same rooftop that John Murdock ran across
in Dark City.
