    Are you ready for a different kind of football? Comic superstar Adam Sandler teams up with the always-outrageous Chris Rock, rap-sensation Nelly and a gang of real pro football players and wrestling superstars in the hardest-hitting action-packed comedy of the year! TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

• This movie is a remake of the film of the same name made in 1974 that starred Burt Reynolds. In this remake Adam Sandler takes over the role of Paul Crewe which was originated by Reynolds, However Reynolds did return in this film as the team's coach. During one scene Reynolds can be seen wearing a footbal jersey with the number 22, which he wore in the original film.
• Ed Lauter who was also in the original film had a cameo in this remake as well, in fact it was the last movie he would make before he died.
• Real NFL players played characters in this film including Michael Irvin and Bill Romanowski who used the same numbers they used when they were in the NFL, numbers 88 and 53 respectively.
• Before the role of the warden was given to James Cromwell, Gary Oldman was offered the role, however negotiations for the part fell through.
