Dave Lizewski is an unassuming
high school nerd who loves comic books. However all of that changes when
he decides to become his alter-ego Kick-Ass, a self-proclaimed superhero...

GEEK BOX TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS
This film is based on the comic of the same name written
by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.
Director Matthew Vaughn and co-creator of the comic on which
this film is based first met when Vaughn was attached to direct Thor.
Although Vaughn eventually left the project after creative differences
he was able to salvage the relationship and got the rights to adapt this
film.
Nicolas Cage said that he based his voice on Adam West's
Batman voice from the original television show of the same name.
Matthew Vaughn had been rejected by every studio he brought
this project too, as a result he decided to raise the money for this film
himself do it independently. He was then able to sell the finished product
to Universal for quite a bit more than he spent to begin with.
Originally Christopher Mintz-Plasse had auditioned for the
role of Kick-Ass, although he was turned down for the part, he was asked
to play the role of Red Mist.
Originally the filmmakers had wanted Daniel Craig, and had
even considered Mark Wahlberg for the role of Big Daddy before they had
decided on Nicolas Cage.
