TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

• After director Stanley Kramer started casting for this movie it quickly spread through Hollywood that he was casting every comedian he could think of in this movie. As a result many comedians began to seek him out to volunteer their services, while others wanted to ask him why they had not been asked to be in the film.
• The day before this film was released, a special charity screening took place in New York. In attendance were John F. Kennedy and most of his family including Robert F. Kennedy. Just five days later JFK was shot and killed.
• Stan Laurel, Judy Garland, Bob Hope, Jackie Mason, George Burns, and Red Skelton all turned down roles in this movie.
• Groucho Marx was original considered for the role of the father-in-law, however the role was later rewritten and was played by Ethel Merman.
• Hefe wonders if the only reason so many actors were listed on the back of the box is to create a butt load of work for him.
