    Mike Deerfield returns to the U.S. after his tour of duty in Iraq and abruptly goes missing. His father Hank (Tommy Lee Jones), a spit-and-polish ex-MP from the Vietnam era, goes looking for him. What he finds goes to the heart of American combat experiences in the Iraqi conflict.

• The story of this film is based partially on the true story of Richard Davis, who was murdered by fellow soldiers upon returning from a tour in Iraq.
• Originally this film was written with Clint Eastwood in mind to star in the lead role, in fact Eastwood initially helped convince the studio to green-light this project. However he dropped off the project and was replaced by Tommy Lee Jones for unknown reasons.
