Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in this sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is the best there is at extraction: stealing valuable secrets inside the subconcious during the mind's vulnerable dream state. His skill has made him a coveted player om omdustrial espionage, but it has also made him a fugitive and cost him dearly. Now he may get a second chance if he can do the impossible: Inception: planting and idea rather than stealing one. If they succeed, Cobb and his team could pull off the perfect crime. But no planning or expertise can prepare them for a dangerous enemy who seems to predict their every move. An enemy only Cobb could have seen coming.

TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

Christopher Nolan first pitched the idea for this film to Warner Brothers in 2002 and was given the greenlight. At the time Nolan believed it would only take him a couple of months to write the screenplay, in the end it took him about seven years to complete the final screenplay.
Cobb, the main character in this film, is also the name of the main character in Christopher Nolan's first film, The Following.
Warner Brothers asked Christopher Nolan to shoot this film in 3D, however Nolan refused stating the effect would take attention away from the story.
The film's signature song as heard in both the movie and the trailers with the long trumpet blasts, is actually a slowed down version of the song Non, je ne regrette rien by Edith Piaf. Marion Cotillard who plays Mal in this film, previously starred as Edith Piaf in the bio pic La Vie En Rose. Christopher Nolan insists this was a coincidence and that he had intended to use the song before Cotillard was approached for the part. In fact he wanted to swap out the song after she was cast to avoid people wondering if there was a connection, but composer Hans Zimmer convinced him to leave the song in.
