WHAT THE STUDIO WANTS YOU TO KNOW
DESCRIPTION:
From the creators of Being
John Malkovich comes a comedy that examines our most basic instincts.
Tim Robbins, Patricia Arquette, and
Rhys Ifans go for a walk on the wild side in the deliciously twisted tale

In 1996 Steven Soderbergh had wanted to make this film and
had supposedly looked into casting David Hyde Pierce in the role of Nathan,
Chris Kattan in the role of Puff, and Marisa Tomei in the role of Lila
Jute. However shortly before the film went into production Soderbergh was
offered the chance to direct Out Of Sight and opted to drop this
film in order to film the George Clooney film.

Producers had wanted Spike Jonze to direct this film after
the unexpected success of Being John Malkovich, however he decided
to pass, but had suggested Michel Gondry instead, who ended up getting
the director's seat. Jonze however did end up staying on as a producer.

This was Hilary Duff's first feature film.
