TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

• The horse Hidalgo was actually played by 5 different American Paint Horses, however the primary horse used named T.J., was purchased by Viggo Mortensen after filming was completed.
• In the final scene of the film we see many horses all running together. The scene was filmed in Browning, Montana and required the use of 550 different horses. Since they were owned by different people, the horses all had to be branded on the hoof to that after shooting was complete they could be redistributed to their owners.
