HEFE'S REVIEW OF:
ANGER MANAGEMENT (2003)

OPENING THOUGHTS

It would have been pretty hard to screw up a movie like this, I mean a story about anger starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson? You would have to make this movie a gay porn to screw it up, and even then I probably would have watched just because of who is in it, I mean holy shit these guys are awesome!

ACTING

ADAM SANDLER does a good job in this movie, I think this is the first movie that I have seen his dramatic side really peaking out in. He would later go all out in movies like Punch Drunk Love and Spanglish, but this movie is the one that showed me that he could do it. Big Daddy  was on the right track, but this one was better I think. The great thing about this movie though, is that he was still very funny, so you got to see both sides of him, great work!
JACK NICHOLSON is a crazy bastard, or at least he plays one on TV. He did a superb job, as he does in everything I have seen him in. But there were a few scenes in this movie when he was angry about something that I couldn't believe the faces he made. Especially when he throws the eggs, watch his face in that seen, it's as scary as God appearing in your oatmeal and saying he has chosen you to lead the people... you know I've heard.
MARISA TOMEI still tickles me pink every time I see her. She is so damn cute, and a great realistic actress. She seems like a real person, not just some rich cow playing a real person. No fakey Hollywood bullshit floating around her, and that makes me smile. If I had to pick one thing about her that I like, it is when she bites her lower lip, that is really hot, it sends me into immediate humping convulsions. Watch for it in this movie, you will see what I mean, oh God you will.

DIRECTION AND SCRIPT

DAVID DORFMAN did a really good job with the script, but I have to wonder how it is that the script seemed to fit Adam Sandler so well. Was he allowed to improvise, was the story written for Adam Sandler by one of Sandler's usual writers and then not credited? The only reason I ask this is because the only other movie this guy has written is My Boss's Daughter, a movie that is smack dab in the middle of my "list of movies never to see." So while I enjoyed this movie a great deal I am a bit leery of watching his other movie. The thing I didn't like about this movie is the ending, I really thought they took the easy way out with this one. I don't want to give anything away, but lets just say it is a way overused idea that wraps up a movie in a nice neat package. It's not terrible, but it definitely was a major contributor to this movie not getting an A.

THE VERDICT

This is a great movie, that I think everyone can enjoy. There is a funny story, great actors from the stars of the movie down to the supporting cast, and a lot of classic memorable scenes. I am sure most of you reading this have already seen this movie and are reading this just to see if you can trust my opinions on movies, but if your some kind of cave leper who missed out on this movie then you really should go take a shower, take some medication, and go watch this movie you cave dwelling douche!
