Sarah Michelle Gellar (TV's Buffy
The Vampire Slayer) stars as an American nurse who has come to work
in Tokyo. Following a series of horrifying and mysterious deaths, she encounters
the vengeful supernatural spirit that possesses its victims, claims their
souls, then passes it curse to another person in a spread chain of horror.
Now, she must find a way to break the supernatural spell ot become the
next victim of an ancient evil that never dies, but forever lives to kill.

This is a remake of the Japanese film Ju-on which
was also directed by Takashi Shimizu.

This film had two different cuts, an "R" rated cut and a
"PG-13" version, after test screening both versions, the studio found people
preferred the PG-13 version which contained less horrific violence, as
a result it was the PG-13 version that was released.

The popping sounds that we hear during the female ghost scenes
were made using a comb.

In nearly every scene we see the character Toshio we see
him with his cat, the real actor Yuya Ozeki is scared to death of cats.
