WHAT THE STUDIO WANTS YOU TO KNOW
DESCRIPTION:
A riveting tale of desperation
and betrayal based on David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin,
Ed Harris and Kevin Spacey shine in this powerful story set in the world
of real estate. Times are rough at Premiere Properties. Shelly "the machine"
Levene (Lemmon) and Dave Moss (Harris are veteran salesman, but only Ricky
Romo (Pacino) is on a hot streak. The new Glengarry sales leads could turn
everything around, but the front office is holding them back until these
"losers" prove themselves. Then someone decides to take matters into his
own hands, stealing the Glengarry leads and leaving everyone else wondering
who did it.

The word "Fuck" is said 138 times in this movie, while the
word "Shit" is said 50 times. The large number of swear words featured
in the movie caused the cast to refer to this movie on set as Death
Of A Fucking Salesman.
-
This movie is adapted from a stage play that was also written
by screenwriter Davd Mamet.
-
Alec Baldwin's role of Blake was not a character featured
in the original stage version, it was a part written for the screen by
Mamet specifically for the Baldwin.
-
Jack Lemmon had said that this was the greatest ensemble
cast he had ever worked with. Other cast members felt the same way and
would show up on set on days they were not required to be there just to
watch the other actors perform their scenes.
