• This marks both Rainn Wilsons and Justin Long's film debutes, however Long was mistakenly credited in intial 2000 DVD releases as Brandon Long, most likely because his character's name was Brandon. This was corrected on the 2003 reprint.
• This film is largely a salute and friendly jab at the cast and fans of the Star Trek.
