• Originally Terence Young, who made his name by directing early James Bond films was set to direct this movie, which would have been the first time he had worked with Sean Connery since Thunderball 30 years before, however he died before he could assume the position. Mel Gibson nearly took the job but eventually he dropped out and the movie ended up being helmed by Jerry Zucker.
