• This movie is based on the memoir of the same name written by Lynn Barber, however the names of the main characters were changed for the film.
• Nick Hornby has written several books that have been adapted into movies by other writers including About A Boy, Fever Pitch and High Fidelity, however this marks his first screenplay, and ironically this is based on a book written by a different author.
