WHAT THE STUDIO WANTS YOU TO KNOW
DESCRIPTION:
The dumbest duo in comedy
rides again in this longer, never-before-seen, unrated version of "the
funniest movie in the world" (Arizona Daily Star).
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are hilarious
as a pair of lovable losers on a cross-country road trip to return a briefcase
full of cash to its beautiful owner (Lauren Holly). During the course of
their moronic mission, these indomitable dimwits confound cops, kidnappers,
rednecks and anyone unlucky enough to cross their paths.
Featuring deleted and alternate scenes,
a retrospective documentary and six more outrageous minutes, this is the
most satisfyingly stupid comic caper of all time!

TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED

-
The chipped tooth that Jim Carrey is sporting was not a special
effect. He chipped his tooth accidentally many years prior to the filming
of the movie, but he had it capped. For the film though he had it removed
as he thought it made his character look more deranged.
-
When the guys pull the trick on Seabass and leave him stuck
with the bill, Harry asks Lloyd where he came up with that idea. He tells
him he saw it in a movie once, and that later on the guy who was tricked
caught up to the trickster and killed him. The movie he is referring to
here is Something Wild and this confrontation was between Jeff Daniels,
who plays Harry in this film, and Ray Liotta.
-
Jim Carrey had a large effect on the outcome of the film.
In addition to improvising many lines in the film including "The most annoying
sound in the world" bit, the studio wanted to shoot a different ending
in which Harry and Lloyd get on the bus with the Tropicana girls at the
end of the film because they thought the audience would like a happier
ending. However Jim Carrey refused to shoot the scene because he liked
the original ending.
-
Jim Carrey had to have emergency surgery while filming this
movie to have a gull stone removed. This caused production of the entire
film to shut down for a week.
