This movie is based on the book of the same name by Thomas Cobb.
Jeff Bridges and Colin Farrell did all of their own singing.
Jeff Bridges agreed to do this film on the stipulation that his musician friend T-Bone Burnett be allowed with write a song for the movie. The studio agreed, and both Bridges and Burnett won both a Golden Globe and an Oscar for their efforts.
