This movie is a puzzle wrapped in an
enigma shrouded in a mystery. I used to use that phrase to describe my
personal life, but now I feel that it more accurately represents this movie.
If you are reading this review instead of watching the movie itself you
are doing yourself a great disservice. Ever since I had first seen the
teaser trailer of this movie all those months ago, I knew that I was going
to love it. Christopher Nolan has definitely hit another one out of the
park. A lot of the reviews I read were very very generous to the film and
as a result I had built this movie up in my mind, and it still delivered.
I'm not saying that this is going to win an Oscar for Best Picture, but
I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a nod. I suppose that will depend on
how the rest of this year goes. Wait a minute, who am I kidding? If they
are still planning on nominating ten films this year than this will be
one of them. I was anticipating that this was going to be one of the best
films of the year and yet the theater I went to only sold about a third
of the tickets for the first show on opening day. It makes me laugh how
the Twilight films can sell out the first day with no problem and
yet better quality movies just don't do as well. Anyway, Nolan gets good
performances out of all his actors and actresses. The one complaint I really
had about the movie was that there were about twenty times during the film
that it looked like the cast was having a heroine drug party, and every
time it made me chuckle. To get why I am saying that check out www.pasivdevice.org
to be informed. This is one that I will be anxiously waiting to buy the
second it's released on Blu-ray.
