WHAT THE STUDIO WANTS YOU TO KNOW

    The Toro cheerleading squad has spirit, spunk, sass and a killer routine that's sure to land them the national championship trophy for the sixth year in a row. But for newly-elected team captain, Torrance (Kirsten Dunst), the Toros' road to cheer glory stumbles when she discovers their perfectly choreographed routines were stolen from a hot hip-hop squad across town. Now the squad must scramble to find a new routine to compete in this year's competition.

• All stunts more than two bodies high, the fly-overs, and the basket-tosses with head-over-heels rotation, are illegal at the high school level according to the National Federation Interscholastic Spirit Association, regardless, many of the moves are featured prominently in this film.
• Director Peyton Reed makes an appearance as a mime in this film, he credits himself as "Silencio Por Favor" which means "Silence Please" in Spanish.
• Terri Conn was considered for the lead role in this movie, she was called back 3 times before the director finally decided on Kirsten Dunst.
