    When the sadistic Russian mob starts muscling in on their South Boston Irish neighborhood, Connor and Murphy McManus know what must be done. Feeling that the vengeance of God flowing through their veins, they set out to rid the streets of gangsters, criminals and lowlifes. As the body count rises, the brothers become local heroes. Now, one unorthodox FBI agent must be cunning enough to bring them down.

TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

• David Della Rocco's character was named after him, because writer/director Troy Duffy wrote the character based upon him. The two have been good friends for many years.
• This entire film was shot in only 32 days.
• Kevin Spacey, Robert De Niro and Patrick Swayze were all wanted for the role of Paul Smecker.
• This movie's US release was pushed back after the shootings at Columbine High School took place. As a result, the film premiered first in several European countries in late 1999, before having it's premiere in the states in January 2000, which for an American made film is very uncommon.
• Writer/Director Troy Duffy is also in a band, after he wrote this script he changed the name of his band from The Brood to The Boondock Saints. He and his whole band can be seen in a cameo during the bar scene.
