DESCRIPTION:
After the release of Jake
Blues (John Belushi) from prison, he and brother Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) go
to visit the orphanage where they were raised by nuns.
They learn that the church stopped
its support and will sell the place unless the tax on the property is paid
within 11 days.
The brothers decided to raise he money
by putting their blues band back together and staging a big gig. They may
be on a "mission from God" but they're making enemies everywhere they go.
Featuring performances by some of blues finest, James Brown, Cab Calloway,
Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and co-starring John Candy, Carrie Fisher,
Henry Gibson, and Steve Lawrence.

Joe Walsh of The Eagles has a small cameo in this film, he
can be seen during the the Jailhouse Rock segment at then end of
the film, he is the first person to jump up on the table and start dancing.

In order to get permission to drop the Nazi's Pinto from
an airplane, they had to get a "Certificate of Air UN-Worthieness" from
the F.A.A. that basically proved before the drop that pinto would fall
straight down and land on it's desired target and would not catch air and
veer of course.

Steven Spielberg has a cameo in this film, he plays the tax
assessor who give The Blues Brothers their receipt for paying the school's
taxes.

The mall used for the famous indoor car scene was The Dixie
Square Mall in Harvey Illinois. The mall as closed for over a year for
filming and in the end Universal got slapped with a law suit from the owners
of the mall $87,500 for not "returning the mall to it's original condition."
In 2006 the mall was finally demolished as it was in very poor condition.
