Jon Heder broke his ankle.

Directors Will Speck and Josh Gordon got their big break
through directing the famed Geico "Caveman" commercials, which was adapted
into a TV show in 2007.

The screenwriters for this film have claimed that "88.733%"
of Will Ferrell's lines in this movie were improvised or altered in some
way.

Jon Heder had mentioned that it would be funny to have a
peacock costume after watching figure skater Michael Weir's famed "Swan"
routine. He was later surprised on set with a peacock costume that was
used in Heder's opening competition against Will Ferrell's character.

Both Will Ferrell and Jon Heder trained in figure skating
extensively before filming began. They were taught by Michele Kwan's coach
Sarah Kawahara.
