TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED
FRIENDS
-
This movie is based on an ancient Anglo-Saxton poem, the
author of the poem is unknown, however the story has been adapted to film
numerous times.
-
Motion capture cameras were used to capture facial features
and body movements of the actual actors in this film. The same process
was used in The Polar Express, however in that film there was between
64 and 72 cameras used to capture movements, in this film there was nearly
300 cameras used at once.
-
All of the actors had to wear skin tight blue suits for the
motion capture to work, Ray Winstone remarked: "(the suits) are showing
up all your lumps and bumps in all the wrong places. Which can be hard
when you're standing in front of Angelina, who looks stunning in hers."
-
Much of what Grendel says in the film is not English, but
is the original Anglo-Saxton language that the poem this film is based
on was written in.
