WHAT THE STUDIO WANTS YOU TO KNOW
DESCRIPTION:
Marty and Doc (Michael J.
Fox and Christopher Lloyd) have barely recovered from their first time-traveling
adventure when they launch themselves once more into the space-time continuum.
But this time around, their attempt to fine-tune the future in the year
2015 creates an outlandish, alternate 1985 Hill Valley where bully Biff
Tannon is rich, powerful and... Marty's dad! Now, their only chance to
fix the present is by going back to 1955 all over again. But can Doc and
Marty patch up the past without igniting a universe-shredding time paradox?
Power up the trusty DeLorean and find
out - as filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis rev up another
round of wondrously inventive, comically super-charged action in Back
To The Future Part II!

-
All of the main actors in this movie agreed to do the sequel
before a script was even written, with the exception of Crispin Glover
who's character was killed off, and Claudia Wells who played Jennifer who
had to give up actin in 1986 due to health problems, she was replaced by
Elisabeth Shue.
-
This movie was filmed at the exact same time as Back To
The Future Part III.
-
Michael J. Fox had to be retrained how to ride a skateboard
after resuming the Marty McFly role 5 years after the original, over that
time period he had apparently forgotten how to do it.
-
Crispin Glover sued Steven Spielberg for using clips from
the first movie without his permission. The case was settled outside of
court for an undisclosed amount, and this caused the Screen Actor's Guild
to write laws for these situations.
-
The game Marty plays in the cafe is The Wild Gunman
a game for the NES which was never released in an arcade format, but did
use the light gun accessory. As a result the game had to be built from
scratch and they even used new animation, which interestingly enough has
graphics that are much worse than the actual game.
-
The denim jacket that Marty wears in the first movie can
be seen for sale in the shop window, along with a Jaws video video
game and a Roger Rabbit doll. Jaws was directed by executive
producer Steven Speilberg and Roger Rabbit was directed by the director
of this film, Robert Zemeckis. Another Jaws reference can be seen
in the form of an advertisement for Jaws 19 which is said to be
directed by Max Speilberg, which is actually the name of Steven's real
life son.
-
Robert Zemeckis jokingly said that Hoverboards were real,
and a lot of people believed them flooding Mattel with calls about purchasing
a board. The Mattel name was printed on the boards in the movie.
