-
This is a parody of many different spy films, but most notably
it is a spoof of the James Bond series. In particular the shoe throwing
character Random Task is a spoof of the character Odd Job from the Bond
flick Goldfinger, while Dr. Evil is based largely on Dr. No.
-
Both Elizabeth Hurley and Mimi Rogers liked their clad leather
suites so much they asked if they could keep them at the end of the shoot,
and the studio agreed.
-
Originally in the scene where Austin Powers is trying to
recapture the "coolness" he had obtained in the sixties and gives the peace
sign in the bar only to be laughed at he was supposed to be drinking a
Zima as a joke to how uncool he actually was. Once Zima heard about this
they refused to let them use the drink in the film, and as a result he
is seen drinking a Tab soda.
