This film is loosely based on the book by Jules Verne.
This film is riddled with cameos including: John Cleese, Macy Gray, Sammo Hung, Rob Schneider, Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson, Kathy Bates, Arnold Schwarzenegger. See if you can spot them all, and for more fun see if you can spot the references to The Fugitive and Moulin Rouge.
Jackie Chan did all of the fight choreography for the film himself.
This is the last film the Arnold Schwarzenegger made before being elected the governor of California.
Before Rob Schneider was cast as the bum in this film, the role was set to be played by Johnny Knoxville, but due to scheduling conflicts he had to drop the role.
