WHAT THE STUDIO WANTS YOU TO KNOW
DESCRIPTION:
Will Ferrell (Old School,
Elf)
is Ron Burgundy, a top-rated 1970's San Diego anchorman who believes woman
have a place in the newsroom - as long as they stick to covering fashion
shows or late-breaking cooking stories. So when Ron is told he'll be working
with a bright young newswoman (Christina Applegate) who's beautiful, ambitious
and smart enough to be more than eye candy, it's not just a clash of two
TV people with really great hair - it's a war! Filled with wicked wit and
slapstick humor, Anchorman is the year's most wildly irreverent,
must-see comedy hit!

-
The Mexican restaurant that Veronica and her co-workers visit
is called "Escupimos en su Alimento", or in English: "We Spit In Your Food."
-
There was so much extra footage that was cut out of the first
film, a second film entitled Wake Up Ron Burgundy was complied together
and released along with the DVD of this film.
-
Look for a giant wave of cameos including Vince Vaughn, Luke
Wilson, Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Tim Robbins.
-
Amy Poehler had a role in this film that ended up being completely
cut out of the film.
-
The jazz flute scene in the restaurant is an obvious parody
of the band Jethro Tull, Ron even yells "Hey Aqualung" in the middle of
his performance, a direct line from the song Aqualung by Jethro
Tull.
-
On the bottom of the box on the unrated DVD there is a warning
that reads: "May contain language inappropriate for younger viewers, members
of the clergy and Ron Burgundy
-
This film was pitched to Dreamworks reportedly more than
20 times and was rejected repeatedly due to the fact the studio did not
believe a movie about a news anchor would make any money. However after
the success of Old School and Elf the studio green lit the
picture and the film grossed nearly 90 million dollars in the U.S. alone.
-
At the end of the film in there is an out-takes reel, in
the middle of them there is an out-take from the film Smokey And The
Bandit 2 with Burt Reynolds, which incidentally was the first film
to ever feature an out-takes reel.
