    Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale) is a Wallstreet yuppie, obsessed with success, status and style, with a stunning fiancé (Reese Witherspoon). He is also a psychotic killer who rapes, murders and dismembers both strangers and acquaintances without provocation or purpose. Based on the controversial novel by Bret Easton Ellis, the film offers a sharp satire to the dark side of yuppie culture in the 80's, while setting forth a vision that is both terrifying and chilling.

TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

• This movie is based on the book of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis, who at one time was set to adapt the book himself to the screen in the early stages of this movie when David Cronenberg was set to direct this film.
• Leonardo DiCaprio had expressed interest in playing the lead role in this film and Lions Gate released a press statement saying that DiCaprio would play the role and Christian Bale and writer/director Mary Harron left the project furious that she was not consulted. It was then announced that Oliver Stone would direct the movie and would also star James Woods and Cameron Diaz. It was soon learned that DiCaprio and Oliver Stone dropped off the project and Mary Harron returned with Christian Bale and the rest of the cast that was seen in the final movie.
• Edward Norton and Brad Pitt were both offered the role of Patrick Bateman but turned it down.
• Huey Lewis became upset when he found out what this movie was about and demanded that his son Hip To Be Square not be included on the soundtrack, however the CD had already been released in small quantities, most of them got recalled, but there are still a few floating around out there with the song included.
