-
Edward Norton re-edited Tony Kaye's final cut of the film
to lengthen the screentime and as a result he requested his name be removed
from the credits of the film and be replaced with the name Humpty Dumpty.
The studio agreed, but according to a rule in the Director's Guilde Of
Amerirca, any person who wishes to uses a psudeynoymn in place of their
real name can not disclose the reason they didn't want credit for their
work. Tony Kaye proceeded to tell magazines and various memebers of the
press why he didn't want the credit and his name was reinstated into the
credits for the final movie. He then sued New Line and the Director's Guilde
for $275 million dollars claiming they were infringing on his right to
free speech.
-
The punk-band Anti-heroes also sued New Line for defamation
for having a Nazi skin-head appear in the film with a tattoo of the band.
